BRITISH & INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION.
EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the Exhibition Executive was held at the County Chambers tit, 7.10 o'clock last evening. Present: .Messrs W. .1. Butler t President). W'. Jeffries, A. Aitken, K. F. Perbam. P. Kenton and lion M. L. Aliohcl. Apologise were received for the absence of Messrs Perry. Dalgleish, AVilson. AVild and Dr Teiebelmann. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved . ACCOUNTS. The Executive considered accounts and a draft statement of the receipts and expenditure to date. A count- lo the amount of .£‘1215 9 s wetv passed lor payment. The receipt- statement indicated a return of involute considered very satisfactory. It wa- considered, with a fair return on the realisation of the assets.- principally timber, iron, bods and bedding, that the accounts would show a small surplus. ’lbis, it realised. was remarked upon as a very fine achiovcntetiL.
With regard to realisation, various offers for supplies wore noted. It was indicated the available iron was largely bespoken. About seven tons remained. and if was resolved to attelioii (.lie unseen red puant il.v next week. Applications lor the tnnlier were received and dealt with, quantities still on hand to be auctioned next 'Wednesday forenoon. In regtjrd to the beds and bedding it wa- indicated that there was an enquiry from Christchurch fot qti.'intilu". am! when these orders were satisfied lo sell the remainder 10. auction. The articles lor sale include iron bedsteads, fibre mattresses and pillows, sheets, quilts, and blankets. Complete bedding unfits covering the foregoing arc being sold for £4 bs fid. It was decided to instruct Jed vies and Coy. lo auction the saleable plaid and goods at II a. lll. -n Wednesday next. 201 It. insi.
