The New Zealand Meat Producers Board is taking full advantage of the lorthcnming British Empire Exhibition ns i. moau.s of showing not only to Groat Britain but to the World generally what the Dominion can produce in the way of prime lamb, mutton, beef, pork, etc. During the Exhibition, whilst London !•' full of visitors, the Board also intends to do extensive advertising in other directions, ami special displays "i!’ be made in the diii'ereiit departmental stoics such as the Army and Navy, rim-rods, AVhitcley.s, Shoolbreds. etc. ul.-o in the larger retail -hops. Tiie Boti'd fully recognise • that ibis H ft splendid opportunity of getting into direct touch with the consumer anti no elici t or cost is being .spared to make tin.-.’ exhibits worthy of our Dominion.
The General Manager whilst in Loudon arranged with Air Forsyth, the Board’s Loudon Afanager. for the designing and construction of these cabinets ami the experts engaged now have tiie work well in hand.
In displaying our exhibits Air Fraser be; endeavoured, as far a.s possible, to depart from the ordinary orthodox methods and has concentrated on making the display as novel its possible so as to secure the greatest amount of attraction, The construction of these retrigerated cabinets and the erection of th> necessary machinery will lie under tiie supervision of Afr Hal Williams, an ex-. Now Zealander, who is an export in these matters. The refrigerated plant,
which will also be used in conjunction with the Dairy Board's exhibits, has been loaned by .Messrs Haslam Ltd.
In the .special lamb cabinet each hanging carcase will revolve so as to attract, attention, and also to show a full view of its shape and quality. In the centre, or background, of the cabinet will be shown a scene of undulating pastoral country typical of our Dominion. \ running stream and other natural scenery will also be introduced, (in this pasture will lie seen well-bred lambs in different attitudes. The milt ton ami heel to lie shown in the “Massed display” cabinet, has been carefully selected, and special care has been given in the dressing. The Board is also making a special display of fork in the way oi welllied porkers and baconers, ten pugs boil. g specially donated h\ the N.X. Aleal Backing and Button Co, (Co-op.) Ltd., to; this piirpi'Be. There vill also be shown different vniieiies of frozen sundries and. other by-products from Freezing Works, sir h a.s canned meats, tallow etc.
Special care has been given in tin packing and stowage of these exhibits, the lambs lor tiie “Special lamb cabinet” being double-bagged and crated.
