Commenting on the Otago Union's action in claiming that the Manager of the All Black Team should he chosen at the annual meeting, and not by the A!nnngcinenl Committee. Air Dean , Chairman of (lie Union) said:
"Tin l appoint infill of manager had never been discussed at any of our Management Committee meetings. The Committee i- elected by delegates from the various Unions throughout the Dominion as an Executive to control the game a- a whole, and the appointment ol a Manager of I lie X.Z. Rep Team is clearly within its functions. In the ca-e of every other New Zealand team which has gone overseas, the appointment of manager lias been made by the Committee.' Another member of the New Zealand Rugby Union Executive made the follow ing reniark- :-
"'Du wo not represent all the players ol New Zealand as a Committee At the next meeting of the Committee, a scheme of trial matches to assist in the -election ol tlm All Black Team will he considered.
