The Court found the grounding of the Port Lyttelton oil .1 unitary 24th. in North Tasmania was due to a defective chart made from a survey in 158(1 which showed plenty of water in the place where the vessel grounded. Therefore it exonerated everyone in charge of the vessel from blame.
