The rest- of the actors and actresses became terror stricken, as the other lions smelling blood, sprang on to the platform. Fortunately the keepers wore handy, and after a desperate struggle, they drove the infuriated beasts off. They killed the lioness that was responsible for the tragedy.

They broke loose amongst no fewer than four thousand actors and supers who were working upon the film. Indescribable confusion followed. Many were injured in their efforts to escape. Great difficulty wtis experienced in driving the lions to their cages, after one of the actors was bitten by a lioness.
