Mr Wells moved that the matter he referred to the Prime Minister with a request that he do all in his power to assist the Committee. Seconded by Mr Id and carried.
From B. A. Seward. South Spit, ashing the Committee to inspect the school
residence before he took charge.—Received. Adi- Shannon moved that, the Board’s Foreman be requested to visit and inspect .same. Seconded by Mr Wells and carried. From Rector (Mr T. Irvine') reporting the roll number was 3-'3 primary, m secondary, a total if 483. That the
scholars had been very snccossft.il in the recent public examinations. r l" o scholars had gained junior national scholarships, one a senior national scholarship, and 8 had completed or passed the matriculation examination. Ol 11 presented. 110 had gained proficiency certificates. Three ex-sehoh'trs had been selected as pupil teachers. Miss M. WiNon who had filled a temporaly position as teacher lias been appointed teacher at Ngahere. The vacancy caused lias not yet been filled. Miss May no has returned and taken up her duties; a number of the desks require attention.—Received. Air Lloyd moved a letter of thanks be written to the stall, expressing appreciation of the goad work carried out. especially mentioning tile wmk' of the Rector. So ouded h\ Mr Shannon. Air AL-kay endorsed, considering the results ven.' voiy fine. Tilt motion was agreed to. Air Irvine saiii lie was glad to know their efforts had mot uitli the appreciation of the Committee. He was glad to mention the excellent results achieved bv M)-'-, Aitkeu in the French examination.
Accounts amounting to £i>2 IP- fid were passed for payment. The Rector reported that the sum of \ M hai! resulted from the school s.tle of work for prizes. Alessrs Stevenson and Heinz were appointed visitors for the month. The Committee rose at 8.15 p.m.
