BRITISH & INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION.

Tile patrons of the Exhibition found the usual avenues for entertainment open to them. The attendance during the day was not large, hut at night, there was the customary swelling of the attendance, and all points of intovcsi had their votaries. The ladies patronised the cookery classes freely; many congregated to hear the Municipal Hand in a pleasing programme; while the Orpheus Theatre held a very lair nuuienco for Miss Macdonald’s dance recital.

At tile dance recital the leading feaiuios of an all-round excellent programme were the “Dream Birds,” ihc Egyptian Ballet and The Fox Trot Wedding. Many solo and duet items were given, as well as other concerted items, and every number was enjoyed. The performers entered into their parts with spirit and all did their befit to please and entertain. Miss Macdonald lias had excellent material to work on, and her apt pupils have done her every credit. The party is most entertaining. Special mention should be made also of M.s Adam who presides at the piano nightly, lending every aid to the artistic work of the performers. The troupe will give its final performance to-night. A request programme will lie staged including several favourite items such as the Toy Shop. The party returns to Christchurch to-mor-row. The visit has been a very pleasuit success from every point of view, ui d the variety afforded by ihc dance recitals has been greatly to the taste of the audience. There will ho only one performance to-night, commencing at 8 o’clock. It will be an extended or double programme, so that patrons will have a jolly entertainment for the windup of the season. EXHIBITION PA.I.L TO-NIGHT. To-night at the Soldiers' Hall nt 9.30 o’clock, the Exhibition ball will take place. This event is being looked forward to with great interest. Aery complete arrangements have been made. The ladies committee directing the ball met yesterday afternoon, and plans were completed for what should bo a ve.n- ism-ooissful function. The doors will open to the public at 9 o'clock, the admission being by the usual entrance. The hall is being specially decorated to-dav, and will present a pleasing internal appearance. A largo marquee has been erected for a sittingout room, and special attention is being given to the floor. Air Lawn will be in charge of the orchestra, and is arranging the programme, while All H. Thompson will lie in charge of the Hun*. Mrs .Tones, of Westward Ho Tea Booms, will do the catering and the indies committee will supervise the supper arrangements. Every effort is being made to cater for the wants of patrons, so that the event will remain in the mind as an outstanding event of the Kx Dibit ion period. EXHIBITION GUISES TO-MOHHOW.

The Exhibition closes to-morrow night. There will be a closing ceremonial commencing at 9.30 o’clock, when, in addition to addresses by the President and members ot the Executive, the Snodgrass Cup will he presented to Miss Kerridge.
