V* l SYDNEY. January 30. A deputation from the Miners Federation asked the State Minister for Mines to appoint a It oval Commission to enquire into the condition of the mines on the Maitland Coalfield. They stated there was grave danger from inflammable gas and inadequate testing of the air before the firing of shots, as well as through insufficient inspeeticii. Mr Fitzpatrick Minister) was so impressed that he promised to immediately with the Chiol Inspector of Mines to decide what action should be taken.
