LTST STILL AT LARGE. AUSTHAMAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION MELBOURNE, Jan. 29 Many slories of men resembling List have been received by the police who are not neglecting any possible clues. They had many wild goose chases, but so far there has been no definite trace of the accused. The enormity of the crime has so aroused the whole State that there is little chance of hi- esi-aj*- il recognised. MELBOURNE. Jim. 29 The preponderance of detectives opinion, founded presumably on the result of investigation, is that- List has mn coni mi tied suicide. They think he has probably- gone into the country, when- lie iiiav obtain a gull, and, for i lint reason, they advise people to he specially alert, and to assist the police as much a* possible.
