His Honour Judge Rawson. conduct,.,l an inquiry in the .Magistrates Couit, Hokitika, covering certain allegations made in respect to certain Native signatories to a transfer of a socti m in the Upper Araiuira Valley which was formerly held by the Natives.

Several witnesses were called hv the complainants in support of their contentions. but much of the evidence teu,l, i (.(i hy these had no real hearing on the question. A report will lie made to the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court on His Honour's return to Wellington. Mr It. !’• Dykes. Solicitor to the Nance Trust Office, appeared for the Department.
