A hint of sensational developments in municipal matters was contained in a brief discussion at tile Borough Coun"il meeting last evening on the subject ol the resignation of the borough engineer. Churchward said ho desired to move as follows: — l '(l) That M Ricbardson be requested to withdraw bis resignation of the office of borough engineer upon completion of the waterworks and (AValterlen footbridge; (2) flint Air Ricbardson continue to act as borough engineer in conformity with duties to he definitely set out.”
Mr Richardson's resignation is due to a quarrel with the Mayor, Mr K. S. Parker. The engineer alleged that thi Mayor insulted him and he therefore resigned.
