A Ford car owned by Mr D. T. Cochrane was practically destroyed by lire at Cohden on Thursday evening. Mr Cochrane had returned from a trip to Knmara and was parking the car when the outbreak occurred. Owing to the absence of a near supply or water bis efforts at quenching the flames were unavailing. The Cohden Fire Brigade was summoned and was promptly on the see no and managed to save the four wheels. The ear had recently been repaired, following a collision.

A serious accident happened yesterday afternoon at the Holionu (■oldmining Coy’s claim, on the Greenstone road.
