A very heavy yarding, there being about 480 head. ihe (|iiality. generally, was much hetter till round than lately, and included some, real good lines of steers. The market opened firmer than at last week’s sale, and till good quality showed a decided improvement. Prime steers made £l3 to £IA IDs. extra In £lB fis fid. medium £1(1 os to £l2 los. others down to CO Ids. prime heifers £8 to £lO 10s. down to £l. prime rows £7 to £9 IDs, extra to £lO. ss. medium C 4 los fid to £0 Ids. others down to £2 Ids. Mutton. —A very large yarding and owing to the delay in starting it was very late before the finish of the sale. The quality, taken all round, was not up to the usual standard and ewes easily predominated. Tn fact, there were very few decent lines of wethers yarded. The side opened firm and showed an improvement on last sale, Imt towards the end the demand, especially for ewes, slackened somewhat, and freezing buyers were able to secure a good proportion. Prime wethers made 33s to 3i?, extra to 40s, good medium ditto 29s to 32s fid. lighter and inferior 2fis to 28s fid. prime ewes 2.s fid to 335, a feu extt.i making 38s, good medium sorts 25s to OD. lighter 21s fid to 24s fid. lightei 21s fid to 21s fid, inferior down to lfis. Lamb?.—A large entry, the market being firm at last week’s rates. The quality was good and ii anything rather bettor than last week. Prime lambs made 10d to 10\d overall.
