McLEAN’S PICTURES.

IHI DAY-—A BIG PJCTUBE. “.Most interesting in theme and .situjiiion.” wiis- the comment of June Mati,»s. who wrote the screen adaptation of Alice Lake’s latest starring picture. "The Iloilo in the 'Wall'', n Maxwell Larger production for Friday. “I have never been more interested in a screen story that this Paramount pre>c! ration of ** I lie' flolo in the Wall, declared Miss Mathis. “In this picture there is such an unusual subject with still more remarkable situations, that the theatre-goer will have no reason to complain of the plot. Madam Mysteiio she was called, because none of the fashionable clients who came to her psychic parlors ever had seen her face, and so they did not know that the information they so freely gave her was used against them. Just how that information proved so extremely valuable is demons!!ated by Alice Lake in “The Hole in the Wall,” a Maxwell Larger production. She became a Medium for Uevontre and she got it. Behind prison bars she had planned out her scheme of retribution and when sbe started out she found that the society which had callously branded her—j roved easy victims to the lure of the mysterious. The signal wires were cut and the warning \yhich her assistants were vaiulv trying to flash to the veiled medium she never received. But t-ho seance which followed was a thriller greater than any of the mechanically staged performances which had gained her such a reputation. What it brought about is grippingly portrayed by Alice Lake. The Serial “Nan of the North” and a comedy will conclude a- powerful programme.

On Saturday, an 8-reel star entitled •'‘Duds.” a Society drama will Ire shown with a splendid supporting programme. McLean’s supreme orchestra will render appropriate seleetious.
