Sir .lohn and Lady I.like of Wellington, are visiting Hokitika. They left for Franz .lusef Clavier this morning, and return on Saturday, then going north. Sir John and Lady Luke visited the Exhibition yesterday and Kir .lohn stated he had been much pleased and interested in viewing the Exhibition. lie did not anticipate such a well assorted evidence of the Coast’s enterprise. It would compare favourably with exhibitions previously held in the Dominion. Some of the exhibits contain articles one could hardly believe were possible to he made here. One hope is that the young men may Tie employed in congenial and printable work and not need, as in the past in many eases, to !f»a ve the Coast to find suitable occupation.
