Mrs Louise China, wife of Dr. Archie China, a leading pliysicnn banker at Nashville suspected her husband loved another woman and killed him in their bathroom. WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 The Alien Property Custodian, .Mr Miller, has recommended to President Coolidge the immediate creation of a *, huge federal corporation, financed with 1 Alien Property funds, to effect a revival of trade between the baited States and former enemy powers. Mr Miller stated there was available for this purpose, one hundred and eighty million dollars. The Custodian believes that this not only will restore trade relations, but will develop a surplus which will assure Germany’s liquida- T tion of all legitimate American claims, and eventually enable the 1 liited States to return the original funds intact to their rightful alien owners, thereby avoiding the confiscation of enemy property. OYEBTURF.S FOR PEACE. WASHINGTON, Jan. 13. Mr Hughes, United States score* ~V tary, has refused to comment regarding Dr Sun Yat Sen’s proposal for a factional conference, (already cabled;. It is understood, however, that there is little chance that the United States will consent to initiate such a conference, especially since the United States does not recognise tho South China Republic. Nevertheless, the United States deems an adjustment desirable, but it is prepared to promote the cause of anv faction.
