KINGSLEY SAFETY FIRE STAND.

(Extrnet from "The Press”.) A demonstration of a patent fire preventive gas-ring stand took place at the Municipal Garage. Manchester St., yc-iorday afternoon. The inventor. Afr S B. Forsetitt, secured the idea of his patent from an article dealing with the danger of lire from gas and electric fittings, appearing in “The. Press” ou November 10th. The patent is the form ’of a stand for a gas-ring. It- is made, of cast .steel, and lias quite a-well-furnished appearance, being so constructed as to give additional firmness for the ring. In shape it is square, stands on supports attached to each of the four corners of the. stand, thus allowing of a free passage for air beneath the instrument itself. In the eentie are a number of perforations to cliow a. draught of air to force the heat from the gas-ring upwards, instead of reflecting it downwards, as is tin case with a gas-ring, when some utensil is plaei d upon it for heating purposes. The lest applied to the patent at, the Municipal Garage was a. severe one. An ordinary gas-ring was placet! on the stand at 2.3!) p.m. on Wednesday and lighted. U was allowed to burn for 2t hours ending 2.30 p.m. yesterday, and a piece of paper. placet! beneath the stand was tnufr slightly singed. .Superintendant C.
