Should the burner roar or the mantle not be fully incandescent, this usually can be rectified by giving same a little more gas, or less air, or by general re-adjustment of the gas and air regulators. 3. _-When the burner is correctly adjusted, the mantle should give a clear, steady and brilliant light, and the burner free from noise. A very slight movement cf the air adjuster will usually remedy the gurgling or roaring noise frequently met with. ■1... |t is advisable to adjust the gas and air regulators prior to putting the mantle on; to he correct the flame should he as him: as possible, and the centre of same showing a distinct conical shape of a green tinted colour. A luminous flame denotes at once imperfect regulation. d.--No (lame should he seen outside the mantle.
