The local observer for the Dominion Meteorological Department reports the following rain and sunshine recorded for the- week ending Sunday. December 16th. :
2000 HOURS SUNSHINE. Up to .Sunday. December I6th., the sunshine recorded at Hokitika since January Ist., 1923 amounted to 2000 hours and 4 minutes. In 1921 the total for the year was 1933 hrs. 59 minutes. In 1922 the total was 2009 hours 27 minutes.
