Imperial Preference. The attempt arising out of the latest Imperial Conference to continue the protectionist development in Britain originated in the stress of the Great War has resulted in a very rigorous expression of hostile public opinion. It is now obvious that the issue should not have been raised. It must be allowed to go to sleep again before further developments can be expected. —Lntelton Times.
