Store Cattle.—A fairly large yarding, and mostly odd lots. Considering the eonfcinued spell of dry weather and pastures going off, the sale was I a good one. practically eveiytli’.ug being cleared at miction, and ilie demand generally was better all round. 3-vr. steers £5 10s to Cfi 12s 6d : 2-yr. steers £2 45s to £!» 12s (id: yearling' l 25s to 27s 6d; 2-yr. heifers C2 5s to £3 10s: yearlings 30s to 555; cows 30s to C 3. Fat pigs.-—There was a medium entry of fat pigs. F.aconcrs were easier than last week’s rates. Porkers showed ft slight, advance. The quality taken all round was decidedly irregu- j lar. The market opened firmer than j last week and any decent quality of well-finished lots improved about 20s per head. Mutton.—A very large entry, mostly eyes, many of them being old and unfinished. There were also several good lines of both wethers and ewes offered, ami not too many sheep wore in for butchers’ requirements. The market opened up at about last week's rates, lint quickly went off and ewes especially were hard to sell and freezing Intvers were able to secure a tair proportion of the yarding. Ihe average drop we should say was Is 6d to 2s fid per head. Prime wethers Ris (id to 35s fid; extra 36s to ; 39s lid: fat extra special 445; medium 29s •to 31s ; others 26s to 29s fid: ' prime ewes 20s to 28s fid: extra to 31s 10d: medium 22s Od to 25s Od. others 17s to 225. Lambs. A very large yarding and the first sale of fat lambs since the factories opened. Freezing buyers were verv keen and secured the largest proportions of the entry at an average over all price ot about 91d. The prospects for fat lambs look good. c
