] A RAH FRA FAT STOCK SALE. At the above yards to-day 150 fat sheep and 77 head of fat cattle were offered at competition, there being - only a limited number of buyers present. The yarding however, was , sufficient for butchers’ requirements. The quality was good throughout, heavy weight cattle selling much in i keeping with prices recorded last sale while finished light and medium weights were slightly firmer. Prime j heavy weight ox made from 30s to j 31s per hundred, lighter sorts from | 30s to 2s (id. Some very prime heifers made up to 32s per hundred, while j lighter sorts made from 26s to 30s. The quality of the sheet) was extremely good, the ton price being 37s for a pen of shorn wethers equal to about 7J<l per lb. In view of the very warm weather that has set in butchers arc not buying more than band to mouth supplies. Messrs AA\ Jeffries and Co. made tlie following sales:—30 wethers at 375. 21 at 3iis Oil , 30 til 32s (id, and 30 at 38s (id. Houston and Co report: —At the above sale yesterday our entry consisted of 30 fat cattle and 78 fat .sheep. The usual buyers wore in attendance and the full yarding was cleared at prices on a par with those of ihe previous .stile. Owing to the special ’Xmas stile being held at these yards next Monday our entry was smaller than usual, but was sufficient for butcher’s requirements. Ox beef realised from 35s to 38s, and heifer and cow beef from 25s to 30s per hundred. Fat heifers sold well at recent rales. AYo sold oil account of Mr T. Staines, 3S shorn ewes at 325. 49 shorn wethers al 31s Gd. On account of Mr IT. N.
