FRIDAY. DEC. 7tli. (Before Win Meldrtim, Esq., S.M.) PURE FOOD ACT. E. Varney (Inspector of Health) charged T. R. Chesterman with selling milk under the test ns provided by the regulations. .Mr Murdoch for defendant called the evidence of the defendant, who staled that, lie did not supervise tinmilking. He could not aeount for the milk being under the .standard. lie thought that the manner of taking the sample by not properly mixing the milk may have been a result of the poor test. Will. Searle of Hnri Hnri gave evidence that when testing milk their instructions for the Agricultural Department was to mix the milk by poll ring it from olio vessel to another. George Cruiekshank gave evidence that he was ill charge of the milking j on the date m question. No "liter was .added. After completing the round be had 10 to 20 pints over. Fred Varney, Inspector under the Sale of Goods and Drugs Act, gave evidence that lie obtained a sample of milk alter it was well agitated.
