BOWLING.
A meeting of the Tournament Committee of the West Coast Bowling At sorlalion was held at Greymouth last evening. There were present Messrs J. Ring (chair), A. E. Benjamin (Hokitika). F. Blaxall (Westport), W. Murray (Punanga), W. Blair. W. Cochrane and W. Scott (Greymouth) and D. .McKay (lion. see). The Chairman stated the meeting had been called to make arrangements for the annual tournament. It was considered there would he an increased number of entries this year and the quest ion of play was involved. Mr Benjamin offered the use af the Hokitika Green for any overflow. The offer was accepted with thanks, the Punanga green not being in a fit condition for tournament piny. Il was resolved the tournament extend over three days commencing on Tuesday. Feb. D-’lli. A suggestion by the Westport delegate that the tournament take place at Hokitika was not entertained. Il was resolved on the suggestion of the Westport delegate that the pairs he played cm the opening day, the rinks on the second day and the finals ol' hoi. 1 1 on the third day. Owing to the necessity of having ample time to make arrangements in the event- of the number of entries requiring the Hokitika green to lie used, it was resolved to close entries on Saturday, lblh .lan., and a committee consisting of .Messrs l’ing and Benjamin, with Mr Blackwood, who is to be asked to make the draw, was appointed to arrange the division of players, two days’ play to take place at Hokitika, with all finals at Greymouth on the third day. Mr W. Murray offered to act as assistant secretary to the tournament, and this was accepted with pleasure. .Mr I). .MeK ay then agreeing to net as

Members of the Centre expressed approval and if- was understood when the application for approval goes forward the Centre wil. recommend the application.
Mr W. -Murray (Punanga delegate} stated that the Punanga Club were opening the season on Dee. loth, and extended a cordial invitation to all ( luhs to attend and take part. The meeting terminated at 10.15 p.m.
