AVhen the burner is correctly adjusted, the mantle should give a clear, steady and brilliant light, and the burner free from noise. A very slight movement of the air adjuster will usually remedy the gurgling or roaring noise frequently met with. •I.—lt- is advisable to adjust the gas and air regulators prior to putting the mantle on; to he correct the flame should be as blue a,s possible, and the centre of same showing a distinct conical shape of a green tinted colour. A luminous flame denotes at once imperfect regulation. o.—No flame should he seen outside the mantle.
