There was a good stage setting, excellent lighting and appropriate scenery. The management left nothing to he dosiro<l. the crisp-. bright entertaininenl being put through in a manner creditable to all concerned, and certainly to the delight of the audience.
Tael; Bireliley was a wonderful 1-011-tortiouist. lie had no difficulty in tieiitg himself into a knot, and as readily petting out of tin- tangle. With pleasant patter he made his turn interesting. .Miss Adelaide Taylor sang sweetly, and won the favor of the audience. A distinctive turn was that of Mi.-s Verna Haiti in dance creations. The huhhlc was a pleasant fancy, while the caiM'iee was finite to the popular ta-te. Valentine in a ienlrilofjiiial interlude followed conventional lines. Imi did his work cleverly. The lid" duo in Hawaiian mini hers were able to iust captivate lhe audience. The tuneful melodies with the liquid music typical of the Island race, found special favour, and the executants won an ovation. The Maori comedian Tom To Puni gave n novelty item, winding up with a typical native war dance, hast Imt not least in the Jirst half came Claude do Car its tlie acrobatic waiter, and the little dog Itosie must not he overlooked. it was a very popular turn.
In the second half Mr Erie Harrison opened as a monologue entertainer, doing acceptable work. The Jubilee Trio gave a iurn in melodious harmony. which was quite to the tasie 01 the audience. It was a most acceptable (Meal contribution, find gave special delight, finally came tiewonderful seals with their exhibition of intelligent comprehension and the effective handling by Cap-tain Adams. Odiva and the seals also disported in tlie water. The lady is an expert in the water, and performed many feats, hearing, writing and eating under water, all disporting with equal enjoyment in the water tank. Captain Adams had an interesting talk about the seals, and the whole corn was one of the most wonderful of its kind ii could lie possible to see. The audience enjoyed every moment of the seal act and the intelligence of the seals in ununderstanding human direction an 1 requests can only lie marvelled at. To-night will he the final appearance here of this compact and entertaining company. It is well worth liberal patronage, and many of last night’s patrons are sure to lie present again.
