PREPARATIONS PR OC EE DING APACE. The Exhibitors who have arrived alltady are busy preparing their s[>etiat displays. Quite a number of •Tails have been created, and several of tlum premise to he very impressive. The interior decoration of the bidding is being continued and promises to he very effective. A large amount of hunting is being filing, giving the intciior a very gay appearance. The entrance court where the fernery is situated, presents already a very pleasing effect. Advice has been received that the Christchurch concert party will he lere fu"- Christmas eve. This will ensure an ui inactive form of entertainment, 'the concert party will be .succeeded for ’ace week by Buckett’s troupe of gymnasts. Tlie party numbers sixteen, and includes several solo performers. The accommodation question continues to Ik l handled satisfactorily The hotelkeepers and private residents are rising to the occasion quite above the first estimates given. The ICxh'bipor Council will he supplying about 500 extra beds in all, and in add'.;.on there will he the extra accommodation which was being provided in the ordinary wav. Many private houses arc i-i addition providing for visits hv relatives and friends, so that in the aggregate there will he accommodation for c uite an abnormal number of visiters. Mr and Mrs Jones who will he it, charge of the catering at the Exhibition arrive to-morrow-, and will -ake over the Horticultural building and annexe for their purpose. A well, equipped kitchen has been erected, and supplied with various gas cooking appliances to eater for a large number ol pa ople. Meals will he served in the Exhibition buildings, including also morning and aiternoon teas and suppers. The caterers will undertake all special catering contracts 'Tn connection with the Exhibition.
Season tickets which are now on sale aie going to he readily availed ol by the community. The tickets admit to the Exhibition at all times. At present they are untamable at the County Office, but during next week will lie procurable also at the Exhibition office in the F.xiiiliition Buildings.
The buildings will bd lit particularly well. The interior lighting includes upwards of ninety one. Hundied candle power electric lamps which should light the avenues brilliantly. In addition many of the Exhibition stands carry special lighting, so that altogctlior the display will he very brilliant•
