The High Court lias commenced the hearing of an appeal against the verdict in flic ease of Captain Spain ngain-.t the I'ninn Steam Ship Company. for damages for wrongful dismissal, the case being heard in October. The appeal is on various grounds, including one that the Judge was in error in finding that the stranding of the Karitone was due to Spain’s personal carelessness and negligence.
