I.QNDOX, November 27. bailee Cororal Dcarnley, of tbe First Leicester Regiment (arrested on October first) has been sentenced to death, tor the murder of Drummer Ellis. The accused gave evidence that Ellis had objected to his courting Miss Storey and had made olfensive remarks. He decided to punish the deceased. He persuaded him to play Indians, and allow himself to he tied with a rope to a tree. Tbe accused told Ellis that be would return and release him, but he uas prevented from returning next dav and then he did not think it worth iiliile troubling about, the matter.
