CYCLE ROAD RACE.
WON BA' J. H. WILSON. The cycle road race from Greytnouth to Hokitika on Saturday afternoon for the Barnett Glass Cup and gold medals, was run under unfavourable conditions. The day was line but there was a very strong south-westerly breeze blowing against tlie riders. There was a good crowd gathered to witness the finish at the Central hotel cornet. The winner had a good will, being -U, minutes ahead i f the second to finish. The leading men to fiiii-h were: — ,j. f|. AVilson. Grrynunith (handicap Sluin'), time 2 hours 1 minute ... 1 11, Woods, Keel'ton hep S min), time 2lit-s ofr.iin) ... - W. Go.aleh. Hokitika (hep Amin). time 2 hours 1 minute ■'! D. A\'right. Keel'ton (scratch), time I hour 59 min ■! I). AVright won the medal for the fastest time. SYDNEY. Nov. 25. At the night Cycling Carnival, G. Ilalpin defeated Jumbo Wells in a half mile match race, the best time being 1.5 2-5, Wells w inning one of the three heats in 1 .0.
