THE EXHIBITION.
NOW READY TO DECEIVE EXHIBITS. To-day the large, exhibition buildings, the main entrance to which is in Tailored Street, are ready practically to receive exhibits. Ibis evening the advance guard ot the Exhibitors themselves will arrive. Already some of the exhibits have reached here, while next week the goods will begin tin pour in. In all there will be over one hundred stands ol exhibits, and below appears a list of the names ol the exhibitors. At the main entrance there is to be a fernery for which Messrs Haile and W. Wilson will be responsible primarily. Without, there will be a pleasing front to the buildings, the decora-, lion ol which will he in hand next week. From to-day on. the buildings will be closed to all bill those seeking admission for business purposes. At the end of next week the office stall will move into occupation of the quarters prepared at the eastern end of the main corridor. 'Hie otlice will consist of three rooms—a public ollice, secretary’s ollice. and president's room. The telephone will be installed in the office, and a postal letter box will be placed there for the convenience of stall-holders and the public. It will be cleared at regular intervals daily by the postal officers. After passing through the fernery which will be typical tit West Coast native growth, cooled by a fountain in action at different periods of the day, the visitor will pass into the Westland Court of pastoral and agricultural exhibits. Mr Dalgliesh and an enthusiastic! committee have this in hand, and a very lino display has been designed and will be carried out in pleasing effect. The Court should be quite an impressive exhibit of the resources of ilie Coast. Trout ibis interesting exhibit, the visitors will pass into the main annexe. This consists of two corridors. One one side is (Ircynuiuth avenue, and on the other. Westport avenue. It is about I'D yards long and will he lit brilliantly at mgin by thirty-throe one hundred candle power electric arc lamps. I here will be it line range of exhibits in ibis section of the Exhibition. Both Grey and Bullet- will he represented, as also Bt'iiunerton. Christchurch exhibitors have taken considerable space down the centre, while Dunedin. Auckland, and Wellington exhibitors have various sections. At the western end ol the Groymouth avenue is situated the band-stand, where various entertainments will be given, and in which location the opening ceremony will take place in three weeks’ time irom today. There will he several novelty displays along the avenues, including nianv exhibits in motion. A number of illo disnlavs will be lit with special electric lighting, so that the main annexe will be a very '-right and popular promenade.
