SCHOOL CONCERT AT KANIERI.
Ibe concert and ball, held at Kanieri on Wednesday light, proved to be one of tho most success! ul events held for many years, the hall being packed and the various items on the programe met with a cordial reception; encores being numerous. Air F. AV. Selby, Chairman of the School Committee. presided, and at the close of the concert. i 1 hanked all those who had contributed towards the success of the entertainment, ami the audience for their attendance; also Airs Head for the use of piano. The following programme was submitted. Part I.—Overture, Alias Al. Wells: chorus (scholars), “Come Lot us all Iki Alerry:” solo. Aliss Forsyth; duct. Masters R. and C. Cumming; action song (scholars) “The Caterpillars;” dance. .Melba Gibbons; violin solo. Air T. Crow; Kaniori Minstrels “Way Down Mississippirecitation. Constance Newman ; song. Aliss C. AYylie ; song (scholars) “Throe T.ittle Girls;” short play (scholars) “Clndiu AYoultl a Playing Go.” Purl N.—Overture ,Aliss O. Cliesjterman; chorus (scholars) “At 'the Seaside;” dance. Air Lukin : recitation. Edna Ilowat; action song, “Youthful Auctioneers”; dance, Alva Afclntosh: violin solo, Air Bonetti; chorus (scholars). “The Last Rose of Sumer;” cornet, solo. Air Christensen: recitation. Air T. R. Ghesterman ; round (scholars) “A. Boat;” Cod Save the King.
The Ball which followed was packed to the doors, seating accommodation being at a premium. Bonctli’s Jazz Band supplied the music, which was greatly enjoyed by all present. Air A. Rooney acted as AI.C. and carried out bis duties to the satisfaction of all present.
