‘•THE Clll'S AD EH.’' WEDNESDAY. in “ 1 iio Crusader,” a William Fox photoplay which will b© shown at the Princess Theatre next Wednesday, William Russell is starred in the role of a younfg prospector. Many of the scenes were taken in the famed Cobalt mining district. The story is by Alan Sullivan. It was directed by Howard M. Mitchell, who is one of the leading directors of the Fox forces. The popular Fox star is supported by Helen Ferguson, Fritzi Brunette, George Webb, Carl Gantvoort, Gertrude Claire, Fred Kohler, and Ralph Cloinger. The voting miner lives on a farm, but bis heart is in the city. His sweetheart tells him she is leaving for the big town. Noting his disappointment, his mother advises him to try his luck in the city, realising that there is no chance for him on tat- farm. He gees so the Cobalt mining district and becomes successful. An interesting love story is woven in the picture. “The Crusader” is declared to he one of the best vehicles Bussell lias had. A two reel comedy and the lales! gazette will also he shown. On Thursday next Alexander Dumas immortal masterpiece ‘•’Monte Cristo.” will lie shown for one night only. To find oneself lifted from utter poverty, defeat and misfortune into boundless wealth and consequent power, is something which is certain to delight the average person. This is the theme of “.Monte Cristo,” the famous tale of romance from Alexander Dumas, whit h will he seen as a screen drama at the Princess Theatre, on Thursday. [I is another of the big William Fox productions. It has retained all of the beauty and intrigue of the original story, and tlic -cope of the screen permits the director to show in detail the many exciting incidents in the life of the famous fiction character. Edmond Dante.*, who later becomes the count of -Monte Cristo. The love theme furnishes tile background for the story, and the entire story is crowded with dramatic incident. An all-star cast headed by Joint Gilliert and Estelle Taylor portray the many difficult parts. Others of note in the cast are: Hubert McKim, William V. Mong. Spot Liswoed Aitkeu, Maud George, Renee Adorco, Gaston Glass and George Seigmann.
