Tlie United States officials look for an unprecedented rush of immigrants from the British Isles to America, as soon as the November quota opens. The total quota from Britain for the year is 77,310, at the rate of 20 per cent monthly, and up to this date 1i.1.572 have been admitted. Cable advices indicate that enough Britishers to more than complete the- total are now ready to start in a race to Ellis Island. Probably many of the newcomers will be turned hack. The officials believe that Ihe dosing up of immigration altogether into America for the remainder of the year would serve to turn the trend of British migration towards Canada. A BAD SIGN.
