[BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] A FISHERMAN’S PLIGHT. DUNEDIN, Oct. JO. A Moeraki fisherman named Charles Sproulo had a sensational and hazardous experience. He had. been out all night in a motor boat and was returning towards Moeraki when he was suddenly hurled from the c-abin by explosion and when ho picked himself up the boat, was afire from end to end. Though severely burned, Sproulo fought the flames and hoisted sail in an endeavour to reach the shore. Unfortunately the wind was adverse and the thun'es had full play on Sproule’s face and arms. He stuck to the tiller and managed to reach the rocks under Moeraki light, where the boat collapsed and sank. The occupant was tended by the light-keeper and taken*to Palmerston South hospital.
