AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION (.'A ELM ELI) BAGLA. .MELBOURNE, Oct. 17. For the Caulfield races the weather was fine but dull, there was a satisfactory attendance and the going was good. .Kaiwarra was third early in the Nursery Mandieap, but led entering the straight, and won well in hand. His time equals the race record. Kaiwarra cost an ex-New Zealander, Mr Maurice McGrath 410 guineas as a yearlingj. Ho is engaged in the Maribyrnong I’late. George Harrison rode the winner.
Easingwood won the Power Stakes smartly from The Cypher, who lasted foi a mile but finished well. David ran last. Easingwold was trained by .1 Holt. Cairns also won the race on Purser in 1922.
Following are the principal results:— Mona Nursery.—Kaiwarra 1, Brigh Polly 2. Miss Disraeli 3. There wen 2.' starters. Won by two lengths. Tinn 55.'sees.
Power. Stakes.—Easingwold 1. The Cypher 2, Heir Apparent 3. Won In seven and a-half lengths. Time 2.22 J. Cooog.v Handicap.—Stare I, Cumiquo Paratoo .'!. Won hv a length. Time 2.21. V.
Stare was fifth at one stage, hut ran up to third place into the straight, and won decisively from Distance. Stare i> owned by Mr E. Eeeles, who also won the same race in 1921. E. O’Sullivan lode Stare both years. Rapine had a good trip from Sydney and arrived well. RET CRN FROM AUSTRALIA. WELLINGTON. Oct,. 17. Mr F.
