Matson and Co., teport ns follows regarding liicir stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep- The smallest yarding for some time and owing to the im-le-mc-nt weather, a small attendance of the public-. The entry mainly comprised ewes and lambs, which wen- hard to Sell and were mostly unsold til auction. Hoggets showed a -light improvement oil la-t week. Very few wethers were yarded. Ewes and lambs 16s to lid to 19s .7.1 all counted; best wether hugget") 2ls (id to 27s lid; best m.s. hogget' to 28s 5d ; others down to 21 s; ero-'s bred ewe hoggets 29-; -horn m.s. lingers 21s 7J; forward shorn wethers 26s lid. Srorc cattle A large entry and the quality was very mixed, although several decent lines of steers were yarded. Competition vas keen for all classes and prices were good, l-year steer£B 5-; three-year ditto £6 15s to £7 ss; 2-year ditto £1 Is to £5 7s fid; yearlings 35s to 555; 2-year heifers £2 5s to £3 2s fid; yearlings £1 12s 6(1 to -10-; best cows 35s to 655; others down to 255.
Beef A very large yarding, some -150 head coming lorward and the quality generally was excellent, including several outside consignments. The market opened slightly easier than la -1 week hut firmed up towards the end of the sale and considering the size of the entry the sale must he considered a good one, although on the average it was hardly ns good as last week. I’rime steers £lO Jss to £2O; extra- to £23; medium £l3 to£|o Ills; others £8 5s to tig 10s. Prime heifers £lO to £l3 ss: extra fo £ls 17s (id; others £8 to £9 15s; prime cows £9 to £ll 15s; extra £ls 17s fid; others C 4 tils to £8 15s.
Mutton—A smnller entry nntl in i’aro of the large yarding, of beef and the fact that some butchers were holding supplies fiom outside, the market was hardly as good as was anticipated, although oil an average it showed a rise of Is fid to Lb per head on last week. West Coast and country butchers were operating freely. Prime wethers 15s to Ills; extra to 58s Oil; medium 10s to •I4> fid; others down to fifi't prime ewes 30s fid to 475: a few extra to 50s: medium dlls to 38s fltt: others down to 275. Prime shorn wethers 37s to 43s lOd: others down to 30s lOd; prime shorn owes 33s to 38s 3d. Store Pigs— A medium entry, which met with a keen demand, prices in all classes being satisfactory to vendors. Values were—Small verniers 18s to 255; good 28s to 32: small stores 28s to 325; smnii stores 27. sto 335; medium 35s to Ids; large to 535: sows in pig £4 to £4 10s.
Fat Pigs—A small entry was forward. The demand was keen for both porkers and hnconers, prices improving on last week’s rates. Values were:—Choppers £4 10s to £8: light hnconers £4 5- to £4 15s: heavy £5 to £5 10s : extra heavy to £5 18s; average 8d to B’d: light pork £3 to £3 ss; heavy £3 10s to £3 1 ss: average 9UI to lt)d.
