WEDNESDAY, OCT. 17th. The Hom'd met at 3 p.m. I’rc-sent: Hon 11. 1.. Alh-hei, Messrs J. A. Murdoch. A. Clifton. T. W. Dull'. J. Kin-i. .Mr Murdoch moved that. Hon H. J.. .Michel he re-elected Chairman. Seooildde hv Mr King and carried. Mr Michel thanked members for their renewed confidence. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. Mr Murdoch moved that the Board place on record their appreiation of the action of the Chairman in getting through I’arliamenl an amendment to the Act placing the power of the Board to lease hoyoml donht. Seconded by Mi Clifton and carried. TXAYAED CORRESPONDENCE.

From Rev A. C. Rurchas. Chairman of Hokitika School Committee in reference to the grant of £SO to augment the salary of the assistant in High School.— Received. The Chairman stated that ilie Board was holding tip. Ihe payments fo the Canterbury Board, pending information as to whether flu Board was paying out flic moneys io the teachers affected. It. was resolved to reply to the writer accordingly.
In connection wiili the rents of reserves due, it was resolved the Secretary collect same forthwith. Mr Murdoch moved that in connection with the application of the R.S.A. tin extra ground asked lor and agreed upon ho granted, and that a title he issued for four years to tie- R.S.A. trustees as supplied, such title io he renewed from time to time for a like period so long as the Board is satisfied that the section is being used for the hem-lit of the R.S.A. exclusively. Seconded )>\ Mr Dull' and carried. Accounts amounting to Cis ISs 2d were passed for payment.
It was resolved to invite tender- for painting Hovennnenl House.
