A general holiday lor the afternoon will be declined by till Mayor, and there will he a school sports programme, while the Hokitika Athletic and Cycling Club has decided 1„ assist, and has arranged for the following events to be run off during the afternoon:— 1 mile novice.—lst prize, trophy , presented hv E Brown): 2nd prize, trophy (presented hv P. IE Dowell). Entrance fee. 2s. •j miles. —Ist prize, valuable gold medal; 2nd prize, gold medal (presented by V. McGregor) ; drd prize, medal. Entrance fee.
