MELBOURNE, Oct. 1L The Caulfield races, which were postponed from Saturday, were held in fine, bright weather, before a large attendance, but 25 per cent less than last year. The going was good, and great racing was witnessed. Debutante Stakes.—Versine 1, Heroic 2, Kaiwarra 3. Won by a short head. Time 38J. Caulfield Stakes.—Maid of the Mist 1. Whittier 2, Easingwold 3. Won by a length. Time 1.53. a race record. Caulfield Guineas.—King Carnival 1. Rahiri 2, Frances Tressady 3. Won easily by four lengths. Toorak Handicap.—Sonora 1. Beeline 2, Melola 3. Won bv a neck. Time 1.41.
