Argentine—Finest, 180 s to 180 s per cwt (Is 7id to Is 73d per lb; other qualities, 15Is to 170 s per cwt (Is 4Jd to Is li:;d per lb ). Irish —180 s to 190 s per cwt ( Is 7fjd to Is 8)(1 per lb). Danish—2o4s to 208 s per cwt ( ls9-)d in Is lOd per lb I. CHEESE. The market is very slow and prices arc:— English—Finest farmers’, 135 sto Mbs per cwt (Is 2)d to Is Old per lb. Canadian—Finest, coloured, 110 s 11.''.--., to 120 s per cwt ( Is Old to Is Oifd per lb) ;wlrite, Il ls lids to 118 s per cwt ( Is Old to Is OJd per lb); other qualities, coloured 114 s per cwt (lsOld per lb ) ; while, 112 s per cwt (is per lb) New Zealand.—Finest, coloured, 118 s to 120 s per cwt (Is ORI per lb); other qualities, coloured, 110 s per cwt ils o‘d per !b); white, 114 sto 110 s per cwt Js o.',d to Is 0.) per lb). A shipment of New Zealand produce arrived this week per s.s. Athenic and Maiiuoa. Estimated stocks of c-heeso on October 1 at London, Liverpool and Bristol, were:—Canadian, 182,000 boxes against 135,000 boxes for the same time last vear. Now Zealand and Australian, 17,000 crates against 2-3,450 li.ii- the same time last year. HEMP. There is small inquiry for New Zealand. Spot, good fair grade, has been sold at £34 per ton. There is no interest in forward shipments and prices uominallv unchanged. PEAS. Partridge is quiet. Tasmanian, ox store, 90s to 100 s per quarter. New Zealand 70s to 82s Oil, according to sample. English obtainable at from 55s to tiOs. New crop of New Zealand, March-April shipment, offered at < 7s lid, Iml no business reported. Blue pons in poor demand. New Zealand a float sold for £lB os per ton; forward shipments, L'l7 111-. Tasmanian quoted at .020 lo £2l, ex store. BEANS.
English, good quality, arc selling at 43s to 50s per quarter, ex store, but there is no inquire for imported. fMuit. There are short supplies of American, but heavy crops of Oregon Newton apples in green condition are selling at 10s (hi to 18s per case. Californian Newton apples, green, badly packed and graded, 11s (id to 13s (id. Californian Jonathan apples, poor colour, lls Oil to Bis ("I- Rome Beauts apples. poor colour, 14s. Cox s Orange apples 18s to 19s. No Canadian fruit in the market yet. WOOL. Tlv Bvudl’o:i! market is quiet. Medium and low cross-bred are a liltlu more active. The Botany section shows no improvement. Present quotations for lops:— (lPs (merino) 5s 2d ; (super half-bred). 2s lid: 40 s prepared {coarse cross-bred) Is -Id. EGGS. The demand is chiefly for cheaper selections. Best are slow. English, Dutch, Danish, Frem-li. Irish, South African. Bis to 22s per long 100; Brittany. Lithuanian, Styrinn, Russian. Polish. 12s to 15s fid per long 100.
