King stated that the doctor at the hospital stated the principal witness was not sufficient I* re-covered to appear to give evidence, ami he asked for a further remand for eight days. For failure to comply with the order, the penalty was fixed at three months with hard labor in Groyinouth gaol. DEBT CASES.

On a charge of being on licensed premises (Occidental Hotel) after hours, three offenders charged, did not appear. Nov., to give the defendant a chance. A DEFENDED CASE.

The police charged Harry Creber with supplying liquor alter hours and Alls Boyd, licensee of the Occidental Hotel was charged with a similar offence, arising out of the sniuo oocuirouco. Mr 'Murdoch for hotli defendants pleaded not guilty. Constable Best gave evidence that he saw at 10 p.ni., in a room near the bar at the Occidental Hotel, three men with liquor, who stated that CYcbei had shouted for them.
