( I i RIFTCIH BCH, Oetolid- fi. The annual general meeting of the shareholders of the New Zealand Farrs’ Co-op. Association of Canterbury was held to-day. In the course of his statement, the chairman of directors, referring to the Association's loss on tile year, of £214.1m. said: “I uu-t that the .shareholders "ill accept, the position with equanimity, and murk their continued loyalty to the concern. No good purpose can he served hv the pursuance ot any other course. The money Ims been lost mainly in standing bv hundreds of our struggling farmers including many soldier hoys, who took to farming."
In the course of discussion. Mr W • 1 • Essen, the Assistant General .Manager, emphatically denied the rumour that he had been placed in his pre-cut position by !ii- former employers, the TDnk of New Zealand. After a lengthy discussion, most of which was good-tempered and scnipathetic with the diicetors, the report and balance-sheet were adopted, and the retiring directors were re-elected.
