Tlio Directors of the Hokitika Gaa Coy. purpose inking advantage of tile Exhibition period to give special displays in regard to gas cooking l.v the latest appliances. The Company have secured a special site in Nelson avenue whore a show room will be placed, and in addition a demonstration parlor where cooking lessons and lectures will he given on the use of gas appliaecs. Mjss K. Todhunter of Cliristeliurch is being secured ns instructress. Misfi Todhunter is at present at- the Otago University studying home science The young lady, however, has had three years' practical experience in teaching and demonstrating in cookery. She is a medallist of the City and Guilds Society. London, and holds the diploma of home science at Christchurch Technical College. M.isx Todhunter was demonstrator for the Cliristeliurch Gas Coy at the Exhibition there last December, and comes strongly recommended for the Hokitika session which will cover the month of January next. The stand for the Hokitika display is being specially designed, and this exhibit should prove one of special interest locally, and lit- fpiite a feature of the Exhibition.

The rights for the publican’s booth at the Grey Trotting Club’s Spring and Summer Meetings, four days, have been secured by Airs A. Hunter, of the Pioneer Hotel, Hokitika.
The stone crushing plant for the County of Westland lias now arrived, and is to be set up in tho Kanieri district for first operations. A representative of Booth, Alaedonald Coy., Christchurch, is expected here this Week to erect the plant, which should prove a useful adjunct to the work the County Council has in hand in tho matter of road maintenance.
