The general committee met at “..TO p.m. Rresent : Messrs Jeffries (Chairman). Dawn. Richards, C. Ross, Haile, Boyd. Timlirell. Joyce, Aldridge, Rowe, Perris, ilt-enan Yarrall and Evans.

The minutes of the previous meeting were trad and confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved. INWARD CORH-E-SPONDEXCE. E. I.upton. Jubilee Bellringers, wnite accepting stand offered for the season of the Exhibition, with a- tent show. Received. 11. Poston. Christchurch, wrote in regard to advertising the Exhibition at his lectures on the East Coast. Received.

Tn,, West Const Caledonian Society wrote offering to eon duct, a Caledonian gathering <m Cass Square on New y.-ur's Day, prize money 0100. lor the he noli t of the Exhibition authorities. Received and resolved to Recommend the Council to accept the offer, on the conditions mentioned.

A. ID Boyd submit led a schedule for a linriii-tiltoral Show in January.— Received and approved. Afessrs T inihrcll (Into Secretary < hi istcluuch Horticultural Society), Haile, lioyd and Yarrall, with power to add to their imiutior were appointed a sub-committee to draw up a .schedule considered suitable, and report later. The dates suggested were January 10th. and 17th. Tin committee is to meet Monday night at the County Chambers to dralt pro posals.

A report, was received from Mr ID Wild that Derry's Band. Christchurch. i;.y [performers, was willing to vi-ii Hokitika during tin- period of the Exhibition and give- several concerts.— Received and resolved to make further enquire lor consideration at next meeting.
