Governor Walton basis bis objection on the assertion that these members ary. all affiliated with the i\u Klux Klan. and they merely wish to undermine the constitutional authoiity. which now holds, technically, that martial law exists in several parts of the Stale, as a protest against the Klan's floggings. It is expected tbe Legislature will now meet without the Governor's sanction, and. if necessary, under the protection of its volunteer artnv.
