CYCLE ROAD RACE. N.Z. MEN FOR WARXAMBOOL. CHRISTCHURCH, October 1. The following Dominion riders have entered for the Warnambool-Melbourne road race:—G. J. Allan (Southbi.idge), L. R. Mo re (Southbridge), D. Welsh (Darfield), P. Hill (New Brighton), D. Wright (Reefton), W. Marsh (Oxford), It. W. Birch (Christchurch), and T. Greig (Christchurch). P. O'Shea "ill make the journey as the Dunlop Rubber C'oy’s, representative. and H. Watson (Marshland) will be sent as the North Canterbury Conti e’s representative.

Mr Steve Borehnm, the well-known Labour advocate, and Union Secretary, in an interview with a North Otago Times representative to-night, stated that he had no sympathy whatever with the “go-slow” policy adopted by the miners of the West Coast, lie bad been identified with the Labour movement in New Zealand for 10 years, and he was satisfied that in the Arbitration Court they had the greatest protection to the worker that could be devised. Mr Borehnm concluded: “Go-slow is. ill my opinion, an attack upon the workers as a body, been use it brings hardship to thousands of innocent families engaged in other industries.”

BALLOT PAPERS COMING IN. AY ELLINGTON, Oct. 1. The interest taken by dairy suppliers In till' poll on the Dairy Export Conlvol Act is illustrated by the fact that some of flic ballot papers have already been returned, although the ballot j>ox will not be opened until October 17th. There are approximately 55.000 suppliers on the roll, and the ballot will be the largest one ever taken by post. Of the total number, 35,000 ballot papers have already been dispatched. A further 5000 will he sent out to-dav and the balance will lmve been dispatched from the Electoral Department l,v AYednesday next. The whole of the factories in The Dominion have sent m lists of suppliers. The returning officer, -Mr O. vHodgkins, yesterday explained the system under which the vote was to Iktaken.
