HOKITIKA EXHIBITION.

A meeting of the Westport Committee of the Hokitika Exhibition was held on Monday evening, the Mayor (Mr John Menzies) presiding, and U other members were present. .Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The General Secretary. Hokitika, wrote asking for further information regarding running of trains to Inangaliusi .function.—-Mr lleilby moved that this meeting endorse the secretary’s action and leave further consideration of the matter to the executive committee.—Seconded hv All Parker and carried.

Canon Coursey moved and Mr N. Parker .seconded, that the action ol the executive in booking 310 square feet of space at u cost of JJI2 lOs be endorsed. Carried. C-nnon Coursey said Mr Milne, Instructor of Engineering, was preparing an exhibit from the Technical High School.

Mr Standage said appeals had been made to the coal mining companies, the Suw'millers’ Association, the Licensed Victuallers’ Association. the Business Aren’s Association, the Harbor authoiities and the U.S.S. Co. Air Fox thought the motor proprietors should also be written to. They would receive considerable benefit, especially if Lours were arranged around the district. Air Fox anticipated that some money would he raised by showing the exhibits at Westport before sending them on to Hokitika.
