A distressing accident

WELLINGTON. Kepi. 28

Andrew Hunter, aged thirty-seven, married, was a victim "t a distressing accident yesterday, whereby he had his left leg badly crushed in a concrete ,mixer. INDECENT ASSAULT

CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 28

In the ease of Hector Groggat. aged ■>o charged with indecent assault on a male, the police stated that several mote charges were pending, and a remand was applied fnt‘ as accused was only brought hack from Melbourne yesterday. CARTERTON. September 28

A fire early this morning destroyed the \Yairarapa Brick. Ide and Drainpipe Company’s Works. The blaze evidently started at No 3 kiln which was used during, the night. Workmen on duty left about an hour before the outbreak. The brigade saved the engine room and the bailer, hut the rest of the building, the drying sheds and stocks were destroyed. The eompanv has been in existence twentytnree years and the past year was practically the only time that the work? showed a decent profit. The insurances are fifteen hundred, which represents less than a quarter of the |USS.
