BATHING GIRL’S ESCAPE

LONDON. Aug. 14. An exciting incident took place at the new bathing station in the Thames at Kingston, yesterday afternoon, when Ariss Dorothv Burtonti had a narrow escape from drowning. In company with a party from Wood Green she was bathing, when, owing to it is believed, a heart attack, she sank. Two hoys on the river bank gave the alarm. A boat was launched and the girl was rescued from the l>ed of the river by means of a drag within a few nioments of sinking. After artificial respiration had been applied for about half an hour she regained consciousness and was taken to hospital.
